I can't think of an equivalent group of people in my world to the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees. Perhaps if you put in a room the pastor or priest you respecte the most, the Christian authors you most admire, the person you know who knows the most about the Bible and the person you know who lives the most honourable life, and wrap them all up together, and Jesus says you have to be more righteous, just be better, than that. 

The gap is too great, the standard too high, and we're lost. 

But for Grace.
