Friday! Proverbs! How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16 ESV Yes that's what I want - wisdom! Understanding! But...I want the gold. Is it just me that wrestles with this? Is it the perceived security of the gold? The house? The business? The education...the lifestyle, the travel... Solomon says to get wisdom...but didn't he get the gold as well? The battle for me is that wisdom and understanding become the priority and that I'm prepared to give away the gold (or what the gold represents) as a result. What am I afraid of? That putting wisdom and understanding above the gold might take me somewhere uncomfortable? Jesus said to seek first God's kingdom. Friday! Already! In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death. Proverbs 12:28 ESV In the path of righteousness... morals, values, truth...right & wrong. When we think about where these things come from it eventually only takes us to one of two conclusions; They are a construct. Something we've made up. Or they lead us to the God of the Universe! In Him there is only life, as He has promised when this life is over there is more life. Along this path is Jesus. He claimed to be The Way, The Truth & The Life. It's what we choose to do with Him & His claims that leads to Life. He is the path... And in Him there is no death.
