Even in doing that are you showing your biases? In your heart. James keeps pushing me to think about my motivation and to test it. And all the while it's that last line that not only dictates how to live, but also what saves me. It's Mercy. Grace. Mercy triumphed in God's dealings with me. And so it needs to be in my reading of this chapter, and in the way I try to live. Grace. That is the thing that removes favouritism. Demolishes differences. Gives freedom.
