Hosea 1:1-2 NLT The lord gave this message to Hosea...during the years when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah, and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel. When the lord first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, he said to him, Go and marry a prostitute... At Church last night we started a series on Hosea. The country was doing well economically, everything on the outside looked great, but on the inside, there was corruption, oppression of the poor, and gods who were anyone but God. How are we on the inside? What or who am I relying on? Anyone but God? How are you really? God who loves us unconditionally, pursues us, even when we push Him off, reject or hurt. Isaiah 53:5 NLT But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Today is that in between day. Between Jesus death and his resurrection.  I don't know what he went through on my behalf,  but I am sure it was part of taking my sin and wrong on himself. So I could be healed. So I could be made whole. Most people who get this txt have acknowledged Jesus work on the cross for them and accepted the gift of life He offers. But if you haven't,  now is good. John 13:1 NIV It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. I love the " humanness" of this. It's a few days before Jesus is going to give up his life for the sins of the world...knowing that he will be rejected by the Father. ..and yet his heartbeat is for those he spent the last 3 years with.
