The night sky was there the previous night, and the next night, but Abram really saw what was in front of him that night...what's in front of us that we've lost our sense of wonder? The people were unhappy, but the leadership not only stuck to their promise, but stuck together. Not just a practical leadership lesson whether that's at home, at work, at church, but also a picture of how God stuck with his promises, his covenant, even though it hurt, even though it cost him. Jesus is asking us to join with him, to work with him, as we go about the ordinary day-to-day stuff of life. He asks us to let him teach us. And he'll do it gently.
