Maybe he knew they'd have no idea and wanted to teach them something too... That Jesus mission was not about them, not about those who are already right with God, but about those who are lost, missing, who don't know... But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice' For I have come not to call the righteous but sinners" Matthew 9:10-13 NIV If I don't think I'm sick, I won't need a doctor...if I think I'm righteous, then I won't need a saviour...but...we can't be righteous on the back of our own actions. We simply cannot keep God's law no matter how hard we try... In our culture we convince ourselves that we're ok...I'm a good person, help people, give to appeals, live a good life...God?
