Matthew 5:27-28 ESV You have heard that it was said 'you shall not...' But l say to you... if you look with intent...you have already stepped over the line your heart.  With God it's all about the heart. Jesus is challenging us about our thought life and our heart motivations...and it is so easy for these to get twisted and corrupted This is very hard teaching, and so often I have to ask myself why did I do that or why did I say that...what am I thinking? What is my motivation?  On Sunday we looked at Romans 8 and how God's Spirit works in our hearts - we need to let him, give him the freedom to challenge and work on our heart motivations.  #inthistogether #Godisonourside #beattitudes #wordsofJesus

Part 3 v6-9 ...letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace...For the sinful nature is always hostile to God...But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. The law couldn't save us God made a way thru Jesus sacrifice for us. What things is he referring to that give us the confidence that God is for us? It starts at the beginning of the chapter...let's have a look at v 1-2... So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
