Genesis 24:7 NIV Abe had a unique relationship with God, but note here what he says to the unnamed servant... God who I know, who I trust, who I have seen work in my life in the past, is now going ahead of you. He's with you. In this case in the form of an angel. To help you complete the mission. Lesson#2 God goes ahead of us. We don't always see that or acknowledge that, let alone understand how He works, but sometimes we look back and see God's hand, and know that He must've been going ahead of us. Maybe something of God, his character and goodness, or being thankful for the person you're praying for, or for something about your life...but start with thankfulness...because that not only changes and shapes the way we pray, and what we end up praying for, but is also part of our antidote for anxiety and fear... Psalm 119.62.niv At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws. What gets you out of bed in the middle of the night?I've been up for the All Blacks...someone is ill...but to pray? How is my faith reflected in my schedule? My every day activities? The psalmist is good with giving up some sleep just to be thankful. Thankful for God's word that speaks into his life. I'm not a great pray-er so sometimes structure helps, but God doesn't want religion (I must get up at midnight to pray) but our hearts (I love God and I'm happy to talk with Him anytime) #bethankful #nothingspecialaboutmidnight #loveGod
