Friday! Proverbs! Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored. Proverbs 13:18 NIV What a great proverb for parents wanting to get their kids to do the right thing... But what about us? Its the proud who think they know it all, & its the humble that take direction, listen to others who speak into their lives. Am I that person? Do I listen? And what about Jesus?  Can we see him in this? Come to me, all you are weary and burdened...take my yoke upon you and learn from me... for my yoke is easy and my burden is light Matthew 11:28-30 NIV A yoke is a wooden crosspiece fastened over the necks of 2 animals and attached to the plough or cart that they are to pull. Jesus shares our burden, but doesn't add to but lightens our load. A picture to mull over of burdens shared and walking together... A yoke is also the part of a garment that fits over the shoulders to which the rest of the garment is attached - without it the garment falls apart... Jesus yoked together with us...
