The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 CSB
I don't know how this works, how the Creator, the Eternal, the Word, the Light, shrunk himself, made himself small enough, humbled himself enough, to come and join us.
To become so small and so vulnerable to fit into a tiny collection of cells in his mum's womb.
How does that work?
To wash people's feet.
To welcome the small, those on the margins.
To be unseen, rejected, forsaken, so that we are not.
To be grace.
And truth.
How does that work?
John does not give us the option that Jesus was just a good teacher, a wise person. These 14 verses give us no option but to wrestle with the idea that the Eternal, Creator, the Light, the Word, became a person, like us, and lived among us.
How does that work?
And why.
Because He Loves you.
Wants you & me to be in His family.
Children of God.
Where we are seen.
Where there is no rejection.
Where we are not forsaken,
but
truly
loved.
Rest in that today.
