He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name,
John 1:11-12 CSB
Yesterday it was unseen.
Today it's rejected.
There's actual rejection, and the hurt that flows from that, and there's that massive fear that we can have:
The fear of rejection.
Jesus knows what rejection is, what it feels like.
He knows.
His life, his words, his actions, the cross, tell us that there need be no fear of rejection with him.
Believe in his name.
And that fear can go.
Our acceptance is not tied to our goodness or our performance, but simply in our belief.
Faith
Believe in his name and you will become a child of God.
An irreversible status that is rejection proof.
Rest in that today.
Come as you are.
Let's put our faith in Jesus anew today and step forward rejection proof.
And we are called to imitate Jesus, to love like he does, to love people so they won't experience, or fear rejection.
If you find people like that, stick with them. They should be known as the church.
