Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Sanhedrin who was himself looking forward to the kingdom of God, came and boldly went to Pilate and asked for Jesus's body...
After he bought some linen cloth, Joseph took him down and wrapped him in the linen. Then he laid him in a tomb...
Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses were watching where he was laid.
Mark 15: 43, 46-47 CSB
Less choice does not mean no choice.
Joseph of Arimathea was looking forward to God's Kingdom.
Yet here was the Messiah, the saviour, dead on the cross.
Rather than hide away, in time of uncertainty, he kept doing what was right.
For him that was walking into Pilates office.
This week there was a story of a cyclist who gave mouth-to-mouth resuscitation & saved a man's life.
Even in this waiting we have choices.
To do what's right.
And then there's the two Mary's, who were determined not to lose sight of Jesus.
In this waiting it can be easy to lose sight of Jesus.
These three stayed the course, did what they could, and didn't lose sight of Jesus.
