Jesus stopped and said, "Call him."
So they called the blind man and said to him, "Have courage! Get up; he's calling for you." 
He threw off his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.
Mark 10:49-50 CSB
The crowd who want to shut Bart down, now wants to encourage and empower him.
Why?
Maybe it's because they want to impress the person they will soon be welcoming in as king?
What does Bart do?
Throws off his coat. 
He's a beggar. Disabled. Discarded 
Wrapped in his coat to protect himself from people. A barrier. 
Maybe he sleeps in it on the side of the road.
Jesus is calling and he discards it.
Leaves it behind.
And goes to meet Jesus.
What are the protective layers that we wrap ourselves in, that we don't need to meet with Jesus.
What's my protective layer, 
that I am wrapping myself in, 
that I can leave behind, because Jesus is calling?
