The discerning sets his face toward wisdom, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.
Proverbs 17:24 ESV
Where is Jesus in this?
He is the discerning
His face is set towards wisdom.
John 5:19 tells us Jesus does what he sees the Father doing. His face is towards the Father.
Jesus regularly took time out to pray - to his heavenly father - that's where his face was set.
Which leaves me in the place of the fool with my eyes anywhere but...
And that's why Jesus came, a representation of God in flesh so we can have a focal point. Not a place to look to, but a person.
It's about our orientation.
To choose in the small and the big things of life to look less at the "ends of the Earth" and more towards Jesus...small steps... small choices...so that we might be transformed, changed, bit by bit, to be more like Him....

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
