What about the wise men, the shepherds, Mary & Joe...he's just skipped all of Jesus early life.
Doesn't that make you interested in who Mark is?
Did he not know any of that other info? Or is he just not worried about dropping parts of Jesus story that don't seem so important?
The Bible is God's word, but still written by people, and reflects something of their character too.
Could he have written this any more succinctly?
Just another day in the life of John the Baptist.
Telling people Jesus is coming, standing in the river baptising them.
AndJesus turned up in the queue
And John baptised him.
But John's whole life had been preaching and teaching and prepping people for this very moment. How would John be feeling to see Jesus walking into the river?
Mark has an account to write and he's doing it his way...we all bring our own background, education, experiences, culture, and personality to all that we do.
And I think God loves that :)
