A prudent person sees evil and hides himself, But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.
Proverbs 22:3 NASB
Can we see a picture of Jesus in this proverb?
He saw evil, but chose not to hide from it, not to take refuge, but to step towards it.
Steps that took him to the cross.
Does that make Jesus the opposite of the "prudent person" here?
When you look up the antonym for prudent you get;
unwise
imprudent
incautious
and
extravagant!
Jesus was all of those things. He was not prepared to give up on us, his actions say that we're worth it.
Not sure that we can call Jesus naive, but it does carry the meaning of innocent, seeing the best, being straight forward...and Jesus definitely paid the penalty.
He sees the best in us.
The best in you.
Paid the penalty.
And with his;
unwise
imprudent
incautious
and
extravagant love made a way, became the way for us.
