Whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker; whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.
Proverbs 17:5 NIV
Mocks.
Poor.
Gloats.
Disaster.
Those words jump out. Perhaps they reflect your experience.

Humiliated.
Jeered at
Scoffed
Spat on
Stripped
Beaten
Scourged
He became poor.

He was gloated over.
Despised
Rejected
Given a crown made of thorns
His life ended in disaster nailed to a Roman cross.
He knows what those words mean because he lived them.
So that we have a saviour who understands.
So that we have a hope
The cross
That place where disaster became victory
Where death was mocked
Where shame was gloated over
Where hope was born
The hope of the world
Worthy of our worship
