Friday! Proverbs!
Whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker; whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.
Proverbs 17:5 NIV
I don't think Solomon could watch those "fail" videos on YouTube... maybe people in his court laughed over the misfortune of others, or maybe in his heart he thought about "them", those people from "there" who if only "they" made better choices, worked harder, did the things he did, "they" wouldn't have these problems come upon them...
Mocking
Gloating
Those are strong words.
I'm not like that.
Am I?
How do I see "them"?
From "there"?
Do I know their story?
What choices would I have made if I lived their life?
If I'd been born "there"?
What would I have done to survive?
What I do know is that God calls us, calls me, to see people like He does.
To see them
To hear, to hold, to love.

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
