Do you see Jesus at work in this Proverb?
He is the one who recklessly ignored this advice and put himself up as security.
For us. His neighbours.
For you.
He did that knowing in advance that we couldn't keep our side of the deal.
It makes no sense.
He said he would come after us, seek us out
He said he would make a way, and he became the way.
He knew there'd be a price to pay.
And he willingly paid it.
There's only one reason to do things that make no sense, to leave the best place you can imagine to go to the worst, to willingly give up the best of what you have.
All that you have.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth.
