John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.

I've never heard of the John the Baptist diet...sounds like a winner!
I wonder why Mark describes him like this?
We usually describe a face, height, ethnicity...but he went with clothing and diet!
I guess he wanted to accentuate the differences. Highlight them.
John's not the usual guru
He's different.
Don't mistake him for someone who claims to be the Messiah
