Friday! Proverbs!
Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.
Proverbs 17:27 ESV
The All Blacks use a thinking tool where they analyse Red thinking and Blue when under pressure. Blue head thinking keeps them in the moment, cool under pressure, able to do what they're trained to do, not to lose the plot.
Not sure if their mental skills coach had been reading Proverbs but here it is.
Being able to "restrain your words" is all about self control, when your first response is not to hold back.
To listen rather than speak
To control your words means you're controlling your thoughts.
And doing that allows you to control your actions.
Self control is the single most important skill to learn. If we learn it in one area it can be borrowed in any area of life.
The AB's try to think "blue".
To have a cool spirit.
In the heat of the battle, when the pressure is on this Proverb is gold.

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
