And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching.
And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
Mark 1:21-22 ESV
This word "astonished" means to :
Stirke with panic
To expel with a blow
To be struck with amazement
Literally takes your breath away!
Jesus words took their breath away.
They were left with their jaws dropped
And
He spoke with authority.
Delegated power
There was no mistaking who Jesus was representing.
There was no missing his message
He went to church and was immediately rocking their world!
I wonder what Jesus would say in my church today...
Mark doesn't tell us here what he said, but is clear - Jesus has the authority.
He does amaze.
Because He is who He says He is.
In that we can trust.

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
