And Jesus said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men"
And immediately they left their nets and followed him.
Mark 1:17-18 ESV
Was that it?
The whole conversation?
Mark thinks it's all we need.
Jesus says "Follow me"
No matter who we are, what our circumstances are, how I'm feeling today, Jesus says to us "Follow me"
And these guys did.
Immediately.
Left their work.
Just walked.
Ok so Jesus was there in person, but I find I take so long. Often his word is clear, and his life within my life prompts me "follow me", step towards, love someone, and I take so long.
It's gonna be inconvenient
Costly
Scary
Difficult
Jesus says "Follow me, I'm here, in front, follow me"
Then he says "I will make you..."
This is transforming language. Follow me and I'll help you change, grow, develop so that you can be my hands and feet, my heart in this world.
I'm calling
The first thing is to choose to follow Him.
Towards healing
Towards faith
Towards change
Towards serving
Towards others
Towards worship...

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
