Does this mean ignore your circumstances and just be happy?
The focus of this always seemed to be the "rejoice" part...but the heart of this is the source...what we find that deep joy, that deep belonging, that deep acceptance in is not a what, but a who.
It's found in Jesus.
When we are found in Him
Secure
When we know what He did for us
Loved
That's where rejoicing is found.
