Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalm 61:1-2 NIV
David knows that there is a place of refuge, a place of safety, but it's not somewhere he has the power to get to...it's a place beyond him - & he's the king so has all the resources of the world available to him.
Counsellors, advisors, mentors, friends, family...all good and helpful, but none will get him to the "rock that is higher than I" that place of safety that is unassailable.
No one is doing it for him, he's crying out to God to lead him there.
And so do I.
I need to cry out to God to lead me to that place of ultimate safety and refuge.
Place of salvation.
Place of hope.
It's personal.

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
