Peter suddenly realises that the environment he's in is pretty hostile...he'd moved from the relative safety of the boat...to being completely exposed to the storm - & it freaked him.
Life can do that to us.
A change in circumstances, health, financial pressure, exam time, relationship stuff...loss, grief, loneliness,  earthquakes...actual storms... & we lose our confidence, lose our nerve... we get scared... We see the brokenness of the world - the effect of the wind -  & start to sink.

In that moment Peter knew the only place, the only person who  can really save, is Jesus.

March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts.
