Paul wrote this to the church from prison, so it wasn't about emulating his circumstances or location...it wasn't about lifestyle, wealth or poverty...
This is a personal letter written to the church, so the big themes of the letter - live in unity as a diverse group of believers, emulate Jesus servant heart, & keep looking to Jesus as your source of joy & life. That's what he wants us to copy.
That's the source of peace.
