For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but
it is the power of God to us who are being saved.
1 Corinthians 1:18 CSB
The word of the cross, the logos, the meaning of it embodied in Jesus, don't expect it to make any sense to people who are living in, believing in the logos, the word of our culture.
But for us, the word of the cross, embodied in Jesus, is life.
It captures our hope not just for us, but for all people.
It is our comfort in suffering, as we know some of what Jesus suffered to make a way, and it is our power to stand, to persevere, to not be afraid.
So how do we cross the culture gap?
By following Jesus example, loving people and entering in, stepping towards.
A smile
A touch
A word
An encouragement
An invitation
A gift
A sacrificial act, expecting nothing back.
A giving up of my rights for someone else.
A leaving "glory" to step into another's world...
That escalated quickly!
The logos, the word of the cross dwells in, is embodied in, us, so we can simply love people.
