For what does it benefit  someone 
to gain
the whole world
and yet
lose  his life?
Mark 8:36 CSB
This is not about how much "the whole world" because that is not attainable by anyone, but about our orientation, what am I striving for that I think will save me?
As Tim Keller says what is my self salvation project?
You are enough.
Jesus has done the saving part (OK so he hadn't done it when he said this, but that's where he was heading)
He says just follow me.
As you are.
You're enough.
Follow me with your stuff, your story, with the good, the broken, the under repair parts.
The rebuild parts 
The gospel of Grace says you're enough.
Rest in, live in, move forward in, His saving grace.
