Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.
When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear.
But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John."
Luke 1:11-13NIV
Angels!
Fear!
Zach was a priest & in church & this was clearly not an everyday occurrence for him to be terrified.
Christmas is a time of craziness but this was something literally out of this world!
What's the Angel's message?
Don't be afraid.
Where am I gripped by fear?
Fear of what others think?
Fear that I don't measure up?
The angel knew of his fear and knew his situation.
And knew his name.
Our fears, our situations are known.
Our God knows.
For decades Zach had been praying about this.
Was God really listening?
Was He really there?
In a moment of spectacular supernatural goodness Zach knew.
And we can rely on that too.
Might never see an angel, but my fears, my situation are known in the heavenly realms.
And my name.
My name is known.
And so is yours
So in this crazy Christmas period, remember;
He knows your name :)

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
