Jesus is being asked why his team, don't follow the religious rules all the time...
You can't just fix yourself up with a patch because there's a bigger thing going on where it's only new clothing, a new body, a new reality that Jesus is pointing too, when all will be made new, and the struggle, hurt, loss, grief and pain of this world won't just be patched up, but replaced...and it starts with the heart...not the outward with a bit of new behaviour/cloth, but with a change...a restoration of the heart...
