Jesus warned his disciples not to tell anyone who he was.
The Son of Man must suffer many terrible things, he said.
He will be rejected by the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He will be killed, but on the third day he will be raised from the dead.
Luke 9:21-22 nlt
So the disciples have figured out who Jesus really is.
Why would he then say "don't tell anyone"?
Maybe they don't really get what Jesus was all about. They were still expecting rescue from Roman rule, making things right in the external, in the now...because the next thing Jesus talks to them about is his death...how can he be a messiah, a saviour, yet die...so much more to learn...
Yes a saviour.
But yes a sacrifice. An atonement.

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
