Just one thing:
As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then,
whether I come and see you or am absent,
I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel, not being frightened in any way by your opponents.
Philippians 1:27-28 CSB
Philippians thru L4 eyes:
"Whether I come to see you or not..."
Paul is not sure if he is ever going to be released, but even if he isn't his focus is clear, that he doesn't want his people living in fear.
Fear robs us of today, and here Paul tells his people that fear robs them of their unity, their purpose.
Here's a quote attributed to holocaust survivor Corrie ten Boom:
"Worrying is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength - carrying two days at once.
It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength."
Paul's antidote for living in fear and worry is his start point here: we're citizens of heaven!
Our citizenship is secure.
Live today in the freedom that gives.
Rest in that today.
