Proverbs 17:1 NIV
The "house full of feasting" seems like a place of plenty, of surplus, of wealth.
A place where the fridge is always full of food.
A place where there is a fridge.
Compared to the place where there's only bread - and even that isn't fresh.
Better this place with peace, than the place of surplus with strife.
Is the subtle message here that in the striving for the surplus, the place of plenty, in that striving we lose our peace? We lose what's really important?
It's not about having plenty or not, but the life we live. A life full of strife, or one of peace.
