A servant who deals wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers.
Proverbs 17:2 ESV
Can we see Jesus in this proverb?
He's certainly not the son who acts shamefully.
He's the son who gave up his position as first born son, gave up his rights, his power, his honour, to become the servant.
The wise servant.
The unruly son. If left to my own choices I would've ruined everything the father had made. We are the unruly sons (& daughters) who squander and waste the fathers inheritance.
His creation.
And we're saved by the servant.
Saved by his choice.
His wisdom
His love
So that we get to share in the inheritance of the Father.
Too much of a stretch?
It does make you think about our position now as sons and daughters of the King...
