Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.
Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Philippians 4:8 NLT
This "catch all" phrase:
- excellent
- worthy of praise
It's like a plea.
There's so much that is mediocre, so much in this world that is just awful, but if we fix our thinking on what is truly good, the things that are worthy of praise we'll start to see the world, our circumstances, and our selves, differently.
What will you see?
The genius of God's creation.
The wonder and beauty of people.
The glory of who God is.
The outrageous gift that grace is
What will you see?
When you focus on what is excellent.
On what is praise worthy.
Paul tells me where to fix my thoughts. I just need to follow his instruction, to keep choosing to, until it becomes me.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
