A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered.
"No one is good - except God alone"
Luke 18:18-19 NIV
The word "good" here carries the meaning of inherently good.
And just so there was no mistake Jesus made it clear that he is not just a good teacher, one of many, but God, in the flesh!
The One who could not be looked on, who's glory and power was too much for people to handle...was now here...taking this guy's question.
And his question is full of doubt...what do I have to do?
Have I done enough?
When will I know if I'm good enough?
Am I good enough?
