Paul knows his past (the people he had killed, thrown in prison, kicked out of their homes) is forgiven, and while he can't change it, the only thing he can do is use his energy, skills and time in what is ahead - his calling in God...
Sometimes what holds us back is that we hang on to the past. In our heads we know it's forgiven, but we can't or won't shake it off.
Paul's strategy here is to press on to the new calling in Jesus.
If the past is holding you back, ask God for a calling, a task, a mission, that you can press on with...& stop looking back...
