Like cold water 
to a weary soul 
is good news 
from a distant land.

Can we see Jesus in this proverb?
He is the good news from a distant land.
He is the cold water for our weary souls.
The "like" is gone. 
One day all the Biblical metaphors will be gone, we will no longer be trying to get our minds and spirit around water of life, cornerstones, mustard seeds.
We will no longer be wondering what the light overcoming darkness looks like, what justice means.
We will no longer feel unaccepted, unworthy, unholy, unenough. 
The good news won't be coming from some distant land but will be standing right with us, and we will no longer need water for a weary soul, because our souls will no longer be weary...
May we get a glimpse of that today in the eyes of a friend, the smells of spring, a moment of goodness...

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,  for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
