Proverbs!
Like cold water 
to a weary soul 
is good news 
from a distant land.
Proverbs 25:25 NIV
Do you find the connection here between our body and soul and emotions interesting?
The word "soul" here is "nephesh", a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion. 
When what is at the core of us is weary, cold water gives life. 
Stopping and choosing to drink some water, stopping and simply enjoying the effect of water in our body, letting the life of water bring life again to our weary soul. 
If nothing else, choose to enjoy some water today. 
What is the writer comparing this goodness to?
Good news from a distant land. In our age of technology we no longer have to wait for word to travel, but we do still have to wait. 
Wait and hope. 
Who are you waiting and hoping for?
Concerned about?
Wanting to hear good news about?
This is what we do when there's people who we care about, people who we care about who are distant. Separated. 
That separation goes against our design which is for community and communion. 
The person we care about might be right here, but in a "distant land" in some way, and we are hanging out for some good news, some change, some transformation. 
Good news from a distant land is the best.

Proverbs 6:16-17 CSB This list of things that Proverbs describes that our God stands against, are anti-God, must be things that God isn't.  It's easy to use Proverbs as a weapon, to accuse or label others, but Proverbs is about finding the way of wisdom, of life, it's about the heart, mine, yours, ours.  And it's full of metaphor.
