"See, we are going up to Jerusalem.
The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes,  and they will condemn him to death.
Then they will hand him over to the Gentiles,  and they will mock him, spit on him, flog  him, and kill him, and he will rise  after three days."
Mark 10:33-34 CSB
This is the 3rd time Jesus has prepared his team for what is coming. 
He restates his credentials, that everyone is going to be in on it, and it's going to be awful.
Humiliating, painful, and the creator, the one who spoke and there was life, is going to step into death.
The enemy.
The anti-life.
Why would the creator do that for the created?
Last night I held someone's small baby, just a few weeks old, and you can sense the love that a parent has for their child. For my children I would die to give them life.
And that's the love that Jesus has for us.
For me.
For you.
Chosen
Adopted
Loved
Crazy love. That chose to die so that his children could have life. 
You really are valued.
Your life is valuable.
Jesus put the price on it. His life, so we can have ours.
Amazing grace.
No matter what the world throws at you today, rest in that love.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,  for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. Friday! Proverbs! The Lord hates six things;  in fact, seven are detestable to him:  (1) arrogant eyes,  (2) a lying tongue,  (3) hands that shed innocent blood, ... Proverbs 6:16-17 CSB This list of things that Proverbs describes that our God stands against, are anti-God, must be things that God isn't.  It's easy to use Proverbs as a weapon, to accuse or label others, but Proverbs is about finding the way of wisdom, of life, it's about the heart, mine, yours, ours.  And it's full of metaphor.
