So dont boast about following a particular human leader. For everything belongs to you - whether Paul or Apollos or Peter, or the world, or life and death, or the present and the future. Everything belongs to you, and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

1 Corinthians 3:21-23 NLT

Paul was telling the church not to lose sight of God's truth in the noise of the culture.

Not to get bound up following a person.

Because what you already have is bigger than all of that, it's already covered.

Someone described it this way:

Hold up your right hand.

Tuck your thumb into your palm

Close your fingers over your thumb.

This is your life wrapped in Christ.

Now take your left hand and wrap that around your right with your thumb tucked in.

This is your life;

Wrapped in Christ;

Wrapped in God.

You belong.

Safe

Secure

The clamouring noise of the culture, the measuring up to others, even those we might look up to in our faith, kind of fade in importance when we see our life held in Jesus, in God's care.
