Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.)
John 18:10 NIV
Poor Malchus. Just doing his job, but it's Peter this is about. Three years of living travelling & studying with Jesus, and he still gets it wrong. Still makes a mistake.
Still lets everyone down.
This gives me hope, as I get it wrong, make mistakes, let people down...
Peter in the end was restored to ministry and became the rock on which the church was built; for us too there can be restoration as we journey together, help each other when we stumble, support when needed, and carry one another if we have to...as we walk each other home.

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
