Friday! Proverbs!
Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation.
Proverbs 14:9 NLT
Your not guilty unless you get caught.
How much can you get away with.
Sadly it's some of our politicians and leaders who seem to be the worst...
Or maybe it's the "don't feel guilty about that - everyone does it"
"You're no fun"
Subtle messages that make fun or light of the guilt we feel for doing wrong...or not doing what's right...until we no longer feel it.
Wisdom says no.
Acknowledge it and make it right.
Jesus was THE picture of making it right, of dealing with guilt once and for all...but it was our guilt not his.
So we are free from the peanlty of sin.
Guilt then helps us see our behaviour in the light of the gospel and want to make it right, because we love God, grateful for what Jesus did for us, & wanting to live right...
