Lord , do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.
Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.
My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, Lord,
how long?
Psalm 6:1-3 NIV
While this doesn't read like a song in English that's how it was written.
And if we're looking at lyrics from a song we're trying to understand where the writer is at...this is a song of the strongest emotions...he's realised that he's offended God, & the waiting...it's affecting his physical health and his mental health...
If we think sometimes that God doesn't understand how we're feeling, just read this again...
It seems that guys are allowed to have strong emotions...just sayin.
Even tho David isn't getting the answer he wants when he wants it, he doesn't turn away from God...but to Him.

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
