Then the master called the servant in.
'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.
Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?'
Matthew 18:32-33 NIV
Jesus is using a story of a person who's massive debt was forgiven by the King, who then showed no forgiveness to someone else over a much smaller thing...
I've been forgiven everything.
But when I come to forgive, somehow I get stingy. I just don't want to.
I still want my rights enforced, my debt to be satisfied...
Jesus reminds me that's not the way of the Kingdom, to remember what God has forgiven me for, that Jesus paid the debt, and I'm free from that.
And that knowledge should determine how I treat others.
My rights are less important than grace.
My being right is less important than love.

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
