I'm not sure you could call this a Biblical principle...but Joshua sent an advance team to have a look. He had a massive job ahead that was going to take all his stength & courage and he sent his guys to have a look.
Not a bad strategy when we have big decisions to make.
Research the firm who offers you the job...research the course you want to study...really get to know the person you want to marry...check out the car, house etc (or get someone with the right skills to do it for you)

God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts.
