Further to Ch2 which is all about Jesus being central to everything & that we should have his same humility and love...further to that there's always something to rejoice in!
And just because we've heard it all before, we need constant reminding of the core of our faith... who Jesus is, what he did, and why... because we forget, & we get caught up in other stuff, meanings of words, where is the moral line supposed to be etc etc - good things to wrestle with but don't lose sight of Jesus

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
