He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief...

This weekend we have thought a lot about loss, sorrow...about sacrifice & being prepared to give your life so that others might be free...
Well acquainted with grief.
A man of sorrows.
Gave his life, that I might be free

Man of Sorrows
what a name
For the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim...

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood
Hallelujah

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,  for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
