Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad.

We don't like the idea of discipline because we want freedom...yet we often submit ourselves to the disciplines of a profession or trade or job willingly...we choose to study, to delay some things in life for other more important things.
So lots of wisdom in this for all of us...but there is more...real peace of mind and gladness of heart comes when we submit ourselves to God and his purposes for us. To be more like Jesus. His profession was to love God and love people.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,  for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
